Parcel and Cargo Preparedness: The Sharma Porters Parcel and Small-Item Questionnaire
Hello! If you are reading this, then you are looking for parcel service, few items, or even single-item moving services. But before you read further: we do not offer single-document or generic intercity courier services. We do have a bike and provide intercity bike courier service only in and around Electronic City (currently in the pipeline), where we charge a premium for express service on important document moving.
However, what we are really good at is luggage shifting or single-item transport. When you call, please be prepared for the questions likely to come your way:
1. What is it that you plan to parcel?
- Why we ask: When you call, we would like to know what you plan to transport via parcel service, as not all items are moved via parcel. What we regularly move via parcel includes boxes, luggage, televisions, air conditioners, bikes, and more. Just call us!
2. Do you need parcel packing service?
- Why we ask: We operate under a strict parcel packing policy: "No Packing, No Service." This ensures full accountability stays with us. Even if you have packed items in luggage bags yourself, we are still required to do external protective packaging using our own materials to guarantee complete safety.
3. What is the parcel pickup location?
- Why we ask: We need to know what distance we have to travel to pick up the parcel or cargo, as travel distance directly adds to the total parcel charges.
4. What is the parcel delivery location?
- Why we ask: We cover all major cities and towns in India! However, having the exact pincode helps us check routing and logistics with our transport partners before final confirmation.
5. Can you share the size of the cargo to transport?
- Why we ask: If you are planning to transport larger cargo, we request that you keep the size and weight ready so we can deploy the right small truck transport services.
6. Do you need helpers for cargo loading?
- Why we ask: We can arrange professional helpers for loading services, but only if we are pre-informed before the trip.
7. Do you need boxes for parcel or cargo packing?
- Why we ask: We offer heavy-duty packing materials if you need them, but advance notice is essential so our crew comes fully equipped.
8. Are you flexible with delivery time?
- Why we ask: We like to stay in sync with your travel plans for parcel pickup and delivery. For larger cargo transport, our small truck transport service helps keep strict delivery schedules.
9. Do you plan to add a bike to your parcel booking?
- Why we ask: If you have plans to ship a motorcycle or scooter alongside your parcel/luggage, we can happily accommodate that too!
10. When do you plan to schedule the parcel pickup?
- Why we ask: Parcel pickup scheduling requires proper routing. Please pre-inform us in advance to ensure a completely hassle-free pickup experience.
11. Is a wooden crate mandatory for television and monitor packing?
- Why we ask: Please note that when you call us, we enforce a mandatory wooden crate packing policy for all televisions, monitors, and high-risk fragile electronic items to protect against transit shocks.
12. Do you prefer to have door-to-door transportation?
- Why we ask: Our small-item or cargo transport service is done strictly door-to-door (using parcels for small items and small trucks for urgent cargo and household pieces), making things a lot easier and more comfortable for you.
